how do i bypass a door on a comcast home security system?
Good question – and the answer will depend on the hardware that is installed (since all the various systems operate differently: GE, Honeywell, DSC, etc.). From looking at the XFINITY product (if that is what you have), I think it is GE. If so, and if Comcast has not screwed up the programming, then it should be easy to bypass a sensor – and they should be able to tell you how very easily. Looks like they use the Simon XT (although this may be a one-off version of the XT that is not widely available).
I share the concern of the other responder, in terms of letting a cable company touch your home security. They really don’t understand home security, and it requires special licensing, dedicated training, and a sense of responsiveness and urgency that cable cables are famous for NOT having…
Also, there is the issue of using their network for your alarm system to send alarm signals to the monitoring center. Here is link to an important blog post (yes, it’s mine) about why this is a very bad idea. Hope it helps!
