Surveillance Cameras – The Three Types – Product Reviews
Surveillance cameras are one of the most widely used types of cameras in the world. They have applications for home use as well as business use. you see them everywhere, on street corners, outside of businesses, in airports, parking lots, government offices, homes and just about anywhere there is money, merchandise or people. Home Security and business security are two favorite uses of security cameras or wireless cameras.
Their main use of course is to apprehend criminals in case of a crime. Further, you actually hope that a criminal when he sees a surveillance camera may actually not commit a crime. but criminals don’t think very clearly sometimes.
There are three types of surveillance cameras.
1. first is the dome camera. A dome camera is the most widely used camera in the world. part of the reason for that is that it is the cheapest camera. I have six dome cameras on my website for less than $150.00, four for less than $100.00. They have varying capabilities, but the one thing that they do have over any other camera is they are small and so they are very easy to overlook if you’re trying to conceal them. most of them are less than 4 inches across. The most famous dome camera in is the speed dome or high speed dome. The so-called ‘eye in the sky’ that you see in casinos, big-box stores, airports and banks. I even saw one outside the embassy the US Embassy in Berlin. They are pan tilt zoom cameras that can monitor as many as 128 preset locations. They have a zoom of 216 times which allows you to see a license plate number clearly from 100 yards away.
2. Second is the IP camera. this connects directly to a DVR or your computer to record. there is no need for additional hardware. it uses an IP address to transmit the images. it is fully networkable and you can view it from anywhere in the world using the IP address. there are wired or wireless models with the indoor and outdoor capability and night vision capability of 60 feet in complete darkness. The included software can support up to 16 cameras.
3. and last is the so-called bullet camera. Bullet cameras also have a high range capability. Some have color or black-and-white options and wired or wireless options as well. most have infrared LEDs which allows night vision up to as much as 150 feet away. They are much bigger than dome cameras and so are not in readily concealable.
When you need a security camera or surveillance camera one of these choices will fill just about any need. when are you getting some?
