External cameras an option
Neighbourhood noise can be a miserable distraction to the homeowner, especially when it travels up and down the street into the wee hours of the morning.
Car doors slamming, people yelling, vehicles revving their motors, house doors slamming. It’s almost impossible to sit through your favourite television show without one eye peering through the blinds.
So what’s a person to do when their neighbourhood actually affects their lifestyle because of constant distractions? This problem is hard to deal with because it usually doesn’t warrant a call to police. even if you place a call, by the time the police appear the noisemakers are often long gone. so what are your options?
You could learn to live with the noise by mentally blocking it out. Or perhaps you could reposition your furniture so that your favourite resting spot is next to your look-out blind. Or how about continuing with your evening workout session of bouncing up and down every 10 minutes to see what the ruckus is outside.
If none of these options appeal to you, you might want to invest in external cameras. keep in mind cameras today are not like the cameras of yesteryear. Outdoor surveillance cameras offer added protection around the home and can detect and identify intruders with high-resolution images.
They install on virtually any exterior home covering including vinyl siding. The home security camera transmits a signal back to a receiver that is connected to a monitor or to your television. The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) records everything the camera sees.
In the event of a burglary, theft or acts of vandalism the DVR recording can be used by authorities to identify and prosecute the criminal. Home security cameras can also be designed to work with your PC. The beauty of this system is you can monitor the exterior of your home via the Internet from anywhere in the world.
But there are a few things you as a homeowner need to know before calling a security specialist. First, purchase a day and night camera.
I recommend installing colour over black and white. while black and white cameras often have the same resolution as colour, the images could seem a bit less clear because colour screens usually allow better shape recognition.
Select a camera with adequate frames per second (fps). anything less than 30 fps will appear choppy. anything over 30 fps is considered standard. just remember the higher fps the better the video quality.
