Fourth Engineer
To act as Senior Watchkeeping officer or Duty Engineer as per schedule as well as being involved in regular engine room maintenance.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Carrying out all lawful orders given by Chief Engineer and Second Engineer;
Ensuring the safe operation of all machinery;
Ensuring the safe and efficient work of any personnel assigned to his direct supervision;
Reporting immediately to the Second Engineer and the Chief Engineer whenever anything unforeseen happens;
Carry out all duties and maintenance routines for, but not limited to, the following:
- Assist Chief Engineer in all operations involving fuel, lube oil and bunkering;
- Boiler and engine cooling water systems;
- Stock control for the above machinery spare parts;
Relevant knowledge of ship’s emergency procedures;
Understanding the Company Safety Management system as it applies to these responsibilities.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with subordinates and senior management in clear English
3.2. CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / EXPERIENCE
At least Certificate of Competency according to STCW 95 Section A-III/1
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration.The noise level in the work environment is usually loud enough to require continuous wearing of hearing protection.
