WYCKOFF — A Bergen County doctor whose licensed was revoked more than 15 years ago continued to practice medicine and give advice on a live radio call-in show under an assumed name, officials say.

Alan L. Lupinacci had his license revoked in 1995 after pleading guilty to 10 counts of criminal sexual contact with female patients. He again faced trouble with the law when he was found to be practicing without a license at the Wyckoff Health Shoppe in 2003.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli alleged Tuesday that Lupinacci again returned to medicine under the alias “Dr. Alan Woods,” practicing at the Institute for Natural Health & Wellness in Wyckoff.

He also went by “Dr. Al” when hosting “Learn to be Healthy,” a call-in show that airs Saturdays at 2 p.m. on 570 AM WMCA New York, Molinelli said.

The website for the Institute claims that a Dr. Alan Woods serves as its Director of Health Education, and that Woods holds “doctoral degrees in medicine and nutritional biochemistry” and offered nutritional consultation and other holistic medical services.

Calls to the Institute, which is located at 541 Cedar Hill Ave., were not answered Tuesday.

“It was at this office where he would offer nutritional counseling services for an initial consultation fee of $375.00 for a three hour meeting with follow up appointments available for $125.00 per hour,” Molinelli said in a statement. it is alleged that he made more than $80,000 through the Institute between January 2010 and January 2012.

He was arrested at his office without incident and charged with impersonation, practicing medicine without a license, financial facilitation of criminal activity, theft by deception and misconduct by a corporate official. He was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday.
