Church fire ‘suspicious’January 10, 2012 at 11:53 amBy J-T Staff ReportsPictured left – the Marysville fire Department was assisted by several other area fire departments in extinguishing a fire that engulfed new Horizons Baptist Church this morning. the fire occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on Paver-Barnes Road.––––Car found rammed into building; suspect in custodyThe Marysville fire Department and the Union County Sheriff’s Office are working together to find the cause of a fire that occurred shortly before 4 a.m. today. the fire which occurred at new Horizons Baptist Church on Paver-Barnes Road, is being investigated after fire crews and deputies found “suspicious” conditions inside the church. “the first 9-1-1 call came in at 3:52 a.m. from a passerby and then we received a few more,” said Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton. “fire crews were dispatched to the area at 3:58 a.m. and arrived shortly after to find the building fully engulfed in flames.”
