Motion Security Camera Systems – Understanding The Different Types
In the fast growing world, where one’s material belongings and luxurious possessions have become the status symbol, people are trying to get more and more wealthy and prosperous. Gradually, when such affluence is being exhibited to the outside world, it attracts all the evil eyes of burglars, or even of the jealous neighbors. thus, the safety of life and the possessions of the owner are in jeopardy. to tackle such an issue, you need a reliable and effective security system to be installed in your home. New technological advancements have helped to create a number of new security and surveillance systems that help you keep the burglars at bay.
Today, most of the systems come with built-in motion detector component, which enhances the capabilities. however, if your old security system does not have one, you can upgrade it by purchasing a separate motion detectors component and replaces the existing one. Motion detectors can be used in different types of alarm systems and video security systems. In addition, different options of motion detectors are available for inside and outside systems.
In a motion security system, the motion detector detects the motion and captures the events. Basically, the motion detector component consists of a software program algorithm. Whenever the motion detection component detects any movement, it sends signals to the security camera to commence recording the events.
The system includes the following 4 types of motion detectors:
- Infrared detectors
- Ultrasonic detectors
- Microwave motion detectors
- Dual technology motion detectors
Infrared motion detector
In Infrared motion, detectors the sensor detects infrared radiation produced by humans and other objects. it works by setting up its own infrared spectrum surrounding the device and detecting the movement of any heavy bodies that disturbs its spectrum by coming close to it. In addition to the moving body’s weight, it also takes account of the body heat of the moving object.
Ultrasonic motion detectors
In Ultrasonic detectors, the sensor informs to the security camera or the security signal system the advent and movement of an object by repeatedly sending ultrasound pulses. this type of detector works fine in clear surroundings but fails to deliver its job perfectly in a home with more number of objects, which act as an obstacle on the way of the ultrasound vibrations. this makes the Ultrasound system the least reliable among all the four types of motion detectors.
Microwave motion detector
Microwave detector works by letting off continuous microwaves in the air. Whenever any object comes in their way, the waves are bounced and the bouncing of microwaves signals the presence of the object by creating images. better featured than Ultrasonic detectors, the microwave motion detectors have a disadvantage of producing false alarms by detecting minor movements, which really do not require attention.
Dual technology motion detector
Dual technology is a combination of the features of the Infrared and microwave detectors. The microwave motion detection when combined with the body heat sensing mechanism of the infrared detection, creates the most reliable system by greatly decreasing the number of false alarm triggers.
Built up with high-end technologies, the motion detections are definitely going to be a widely used component of the future of the home security system. thus, by enhancing your security system by installing proper detection equipment, you can make your home least vulnerable to burglaries.
