Robbery suspect has history of theft
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – a burglary suspect out on bond may soon be right back behind bars. Police said a thief looking for electronics targeted a business on Government Boulevard. the owner is fed up. this isn’t the first time the shop has been hit. Owner, Oscar Fahami spent the entire morning cleaning. Broken glass is strewn all over the lot at American Wholesale Auto and Truck. “Broke into some of the cars and ripped the stereo out of the cars,” Fahami said. several cars were broken into. Someone from a nearby business caught the tail end of the crime. “He heard noise outside and walked out there and saw a man dressed in all black exit one of the vehicles and then jumped over the fence,” Cpl. Christopher Levy said. Nearby, police found Carlos Blakely who matched the description. “There were some items that were found on him that did come from the vehicles,” Levy said. Locks, fences and barbed wire don’t seem to be a deterrent to crooks. Now the owner is looking into upgrading his security. “We’re fixing to put up some cameras, night vision cameras,” Fahami said. the owner took a financial hit, and as he repaired the damaged consoles, he could only think of justice. “They got to put him away. He’s going to keep doing that,” Fahami said. Blakely is no stranger to crime. He has a long arrest history of burglary as well as a conviction. “He’s currently waiting a sentencing in February for previous arrests when he was arrested for burglary,” Levy said. “We’re going be working with DA’s office today to get the bond he is out on revoked.” Police said they hope to keep Blakely in jail for a long time. Blakely is facing charges for unlawful breaking and entering. His sentencing for his previous conviction is scheduled for February 17.
