Mickleton Garden Club
Members of the Mickleton Garden Club will hold their meeting on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. the meeting will be held at Zion Community Church Hall on 242 Kings Highway, Clarksboro. the meeting’s theme will be “Tree Awareness” presented by arborist Paul Beister. the club meets the second Thursday of every month, September through June and informs and encourages all aspects of gardening. New members are welcomed.
Gibbstown VFW Auxiliary

Deptford Golden Agers
The Deptford Golden Age Club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Woman’s Club of Pitman
The Woman’s Club of Pitman will meet on Monday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the good Shepherd, Highland Terrace and Wildwood Avenue, Pitman.
The January meeting of the Woman’s Club of Pitman is the evening when club members engage in their annual “Cookie Packing.” Dozens of packages of cookies are assembled, as well as packages of sugar-free goodies for those who cannot eat the cookies. These packages are subsequently delivered to selected local nursing homes.
the club’s business meeting will be followed by the cookie packing and refreshments will be served. Hostesses for the evening are Carol Burkett and Miriam Daly.
The Woman’s Club of Pitman encourages activities that allow women to work for the benefit of their community and the world, while providing opportunities for cultural and social development, all the while having lots of fun. Gloucester County Nature Club
The Gloucester County Nature Club will meet on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3 Lenape Trail, Wenonah. Lenape Trail is located just off of Mantua Avenue at Woodbury-Glassboro Road.

Woman’s Club of Greater Wenonah
The Woman’s Club of Greater Wenonah (a member of the NJSFWC and GFWC) announces that it has changed its name to reflect its membership. since several members do not live in Wenonah and since some surrounding towns do not have a Woman’s Club, we are now encouraging women from Mantua, Deptford, Sewell and other towns to join us.
Programs for the upcoming months include: Feb. 13 – Miss New Jersey 2011 – Katharyn Nicolle.
Book Lover’s Affair will continue on the fourth Monday of the month at the Wenonah Community Center/Train Station. Selections will include Jan. 30 – “Sarah’s Key” as Tatiana de Rosnay offers portrait of France under occupation; Monday, Feb. 27 – “Kaleb’s Crossing” by Sara Gruen; Monday, March 26, “Franklin and Eleanor: an Extraordinary Marriage” by Hazel Rowley; Monday, April 23, “Elegance of the Hedgehog” by Muriel Burbary.
All are invited to participate in the book discussions – you do not need to be a member of the Woman’s Club.
On March 15, the clubs in the Garden District will take part in the Performing Arts Festival. during the day, different clubs will be presenting plays, dance routines, songs and poetry readings. Exceptional presentations will be picked to perform at the annual NJSFWC Convention in Atlantic City.

Woman’s Club of Woodbury
Woman’s Club of Woodbury’s second vice president, SallyAnne Caranfa, is the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) Director of Girls’ Career Institute — a program designed to acclimate high school junior women to college life and acquaint them to a variety of career choices.
Linda Chiesa, Woodbury’s first vice president, is also vice president of the entire Garden District which is comprised of 22 clubs in southwest New Jersey. She will chair a meeting of the presidents of these clubs at 1203 Ellis mill Road, Mullica Hill on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m.

Sing with a Song Circle
A singalong/songcircle is organizing to meet 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Friends Meeting (Quaker) building annex in Mullica Hill, just off Main Street where Route 44 becomes Route 77. this is not a group rehearsing to perform, just folks sitting in a circle singing together. Each person in the circle gets a chance in turn to suggest a song, mostly from the book “Rise Up Singing,” which has songs from the likes of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Ian & Silvia, Bill Stains, PP&M . . . right up through the Beatles and even some show tunes. the sessions are free. Participants are encouraged to bring guitars.
