Police find stolen handgun during domestic dispute
MIDDLETOWN — a city man was arrested Thursday after police responded to a domestic disturbance and discovered a possibly stolen handgun.Mishael McNamee, 23, 825 Town Colony Drive, Middletown, was charged with disorderly conduct on Jan. 5.According to police reports, the underlying incident was a domestic dispute between McNamee and the mother of his 1-year-old child.McNamee was mad that the apartment was a mess and his girlfriend had threatened to take the child and move out, police said. the argument reportedly became physical, according to police.When police interviewed both parties, another relative arrived and said McNamee had slapped her as well and threatened his girlfriend with a gun. the girlfriend told police she had no knowledge of a gun.Police advised McNamee that weapons have to be seized for safe keeping in domestic violence cases, and he turned over his handgun, a Springfield Armory .45 caliber, and two clips of ammunition, according to police.
