GALENA — a Hollister man was arrested Sunday for allegedlysexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy in the bathroom of a store inBranson West.
Kyle Wayne Larue, 53, was charged the following day withsecond-degree statutory sodomy, a class C felony.
According to a press release from Stone County SheriffRichard Hill, deputies met Branson West police officers and thevictim at the store Jan. 8.
“During the investigation, it was determined that anincident had occurred, and after reviewing video surveillance frommultiple stores, photos of the suspect and the suspects’ vehiclewere obtained,” the release said.
Investigators were able to obtain a cellphone number for thesuspect, the release said, and requested an emergency trace on thenumber from the service provider.
The provider was able to give law enforcement an address inHollister. Deputies and Hollister police then met the suspect,Larue, at his home and determined he was the same man captured onthe store’s surveillance cameras, Hill said.
Larue was arrested and incarcerated at the Stone CountyJail. after obtaining a search warrant, investigators found inLarue’s home clothing that matched what the suspect in thesurveillance footage had been wearing.
Larue was released Tuesday after posting bond of $15,000cash or surety, Hill said.
