G4S Installs Full Security System at St. Francis School to Prevent Further Break-Ins

Guam- St. Francis Catholic School is starting off the new year with a new security system.
The Yona School has been broken into over 40 times since last year, but G4S Security Services hopes to prevent further incidents from occurring. Security Consultant James Agustin says they just started installing the system yesterday [Tuesday] and have already focused on completing high risk areas of the campus. He mentions he and an engineering team have designed a system that can fit into the private school’s budget.
Agustin explains if someone breaks into the campus, the state of the art magnet sensor system transmits a signal to their 24/7 monitoring station and also alerts the proper authorities.
“The way it’s supposed to help deter thefts or burglaries is it’s supposed to ‘scare’, basically, the would be intruder to further enter the building and steal” said Agustin. “That’s what the system is supposed to do. I mean you have some people that are so bold and still take anyway while the system is activated. But G4S, we do have a quick response team that will come once the activation on the alarm is confirmed to help have a presence there.
Agustin adds the whole idea is to make noise and have extra eyes around the campus. G4S and St. Francis Catholic School have been in talks to install a full security alarm system for the last few months.
The system costs between $5 and $10 thousand dollars said Agustin. But St. Francis is only leasing the alarm system. He declined to say what the monthly lease fee was.
However, Agustin says they’ve worked out a plan to make it affordable for the school. He emphasizes safety of the students is a major factor in helping secure the school grounds.
