Motion Detector Porch Lights

Is there a battery powered outdoor light?

I do not have a light for my front porch. Eventually we plan to install a front porch light but that would require electrical work. In the meantime I am looking for something that I could either attach or hang for a porch light. When I look on the internet the closest thing I could find would be these solar powered Motion Detector Lights. I really want something that I could switch on and off myself. I thought maybe there would be a battery powered light that I could hang and switch on that would give off enough light. Many solar lights do not give off much light. Has anyone seen anything that might work?

You could get a lantern to hang outside in the mean time. Something like this...

How can I trouble shoot this electrical problem.? Where do I start or do I need a electrician?

It started with my front porch light stop working. then the living room ,hallway, middle bathroom, and staircase leading to the basement. when we have a cord plugged in for light in the middle bathroom, these things happen = when we flip the stair case light switch the living room comes on and hallway and dinning room dims.
When the vacum is running the bathroom light comes on.

I don't believe in ghost! But this is weird
We had new can lights installed in our basement on the exsisting wires and they worked for weeks afterward. Then my husband installed a light sensor, a motion detector over the garage, could this be affecting the lights inside the house?

You need an electrician before you burn down your house. You've gotten something cross-wired or some wires melted together. Either that, or you have a feedback in your system. Do you even know if your wiring is grounded? Sounds unsafe to me. K ;o)
