The light is close to ceiling type…The ceiling of the porch is 6 inches above the door. and the ceiling of porch is 6 feet outwards..In other-words the overhang at front of house id 6 feet deep…The ceiling light also has a built in motion detector.
IMO I would mount it closer to the front of the entry way so the motion sensor will be more effective. In other words further away from the door.
